What We Believe

A Spirit-filled church, proud to be part of the Assemblies of God

South Coast Church is a member church of the General Council of the Assemblies of God (USA), one of the largest Pentecostal fellowships in the world — a movement organized in 1914 to answer Jesus’ call to share the Gospel with every nation. Here’s the faith we hold and share.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God — a lamp to our feet and the final authority for what we believe and how we live.

One God, Three Persons

We believe there is one true God, eternally revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who knows us and invites us into relationship with Him.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus is God the Son, born of the virgin Mary, who lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sin, rose from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

Salvation

We believe every person is separated from God by sin, and that our only hope is Jesus. To be saved, a person believes in what Jesus did on the cross, turns from sin, and asks Him to be Lord of their life.

The Ordinances

We celebrate Holy Communion and Water Baptism — beautiful, God-given ways to remember what Christ has done and to declare our faith publicly.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

We believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit — a distinct experience that empowers believers to live for Jesus and serve God's purposes, with spiritual gifts active in the church today.

Born Again & Set Apart

We believe a person is born again the moment they receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, and that a changed life follows — a daily journey of becoming more like Him.

The Church & Its Mission

We believe the church is the Body of Christ, called to share Jesus with the world, and that every believer should be in fellowship with a local church family.

Divine Healing

We believe in divine healing — that deliverance from sickness was provided for in Christ's work on the cross — and we pray in faith for one another.

The Return of Christ

We believe in the return of Christ for His church, a coming time of tribulation, His millennial reign, the final judgment, and the new heavens and new earth.
